Harry Potter and the Psychic Serpent
The Audio Book
I started work on the audio book shortly after reading Barb's remarkable piece of 'fan-fic' for the first time. Never had a book had such a remarkable effect on my life. I laughed, I cowered...and I cried - in buckets-full. I decided then to do what I could, as a part-time professional actor to help others become associated with this work. The first thing I did was to compose and perform the title music; as HP&TPS uses the beautiful Welsh lullaby Suo Gan extensively I used this as half the basis for my theme. The other half is, unashamedly, John Williams' remarkable original score. (Musical info: I transposed Suo Gan into the minor key, then into triple time. It was quite easy to then 'emulate' - a much better expression, I feel, than 'rip off' - John Williams' theme.)
